Craig Pijanowski has been part of the brewing team at Boulevard Brewing Company for the past nine years. For most of his tenure, Pijanowski has held the position of lead brewer, in which his main responsibility is to keep the brewery running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. His tasks include production and personnel scheduling, inventory management, raw materials and chemicals management, recipe management and filling in on the brewhouse as needed. Pijanowski has become an instrumental team leader for the brewery. One of the aspects he loves most is troubleshooting a problem and coming up with a solution.
Pijanowski began his career after graduating with a BS in Food Science from Michigan State University as a line supervisor at Tyson Foods. He spent most of his time at the food manufacturer in its research and development department. Pijanowski also worked in heavy industrial labor for a factory in the auto industry that made steel wheels for most car types. Pijanowski was the first lead brewer Boulevard has invested in. He'll tell you himself that he enjoys the teamwork atmosphere of the brewery, and that at the end of the day, he is proud to work for a company that holds itself to producing only the finest ales and lagers in the Midwest.
